Our Story
Founded by native Tulsans James & Laura Gamble, Ann Arthur Outerwear is truly a labor of love. In fact, it is literally their middle names! James is James Arthur and Laura is Laura Ann.
James and Laura fell in love with the fur business nearly forty years ago when living in El Paso, Texas as newly weds. James father, a long time retailer, purchased a local, family owned fur salon named Whitten Furs. James used his artistic talents as he apprenticed under three different Master Furriers to learn how to care for and create fur garments.
Laura learned the administrative side of the business, using her organizational skills to manage the store office.
James became a Master Furrier and worked with several different fur companies over the years, including Saks Fifth Avenue, Nieman Marcus, Weiss Furs, and Birger Christiansen, to name a few.
Fast forward thirty years and Ann Arthur Outerwear was born.
Having grown up in Tulsa, James and Laura couldn't think of a better place to live and open their business.
